The walk to work in Warwick

It is nearly a year since the Feldon Dunsmore team re-located to Leafield Estate in Warwick. I am lucky enough to live within walking distance of the office and enjoy walking to and from work on most days. Out of work I can often be found walking locally, in the Cotswolds or along the East Anglian coastline. Spring and early Summer are my favourite times of the year, not least because walking in the sunshine is much more pleasant than in the rain!

My walk to the office enables me to take in some of the great sights of Warwick whilst increasing my step count, enjoying the fresh air and winding up or down from the working day.

One thing I particularly love about our county town is that it is bursting with independent businesses: Just on my usual walking route from home to the office (which doesn’t include the busy market square town centre), I pass over eighty independent businesses - from grocery shops to barbers, to accountants to florists. And the quality of their wares and services is incredible for the size of the town.

I am also often tempted by the vast variety of cooking aromas from over thirty independent restaurants and cafés along my walking route, who have bravely adapted and survived the times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Six pubs and bars are also conveniently spaced along my route, which are most appealing on a Friday evening!

 All of this is set against the grand backdrop of Warwick Castle and the surrounding castle park estate, which look stunning particularly in blue skies at this time of year. Once I get closer to the working farm on which our office I based, I am greeted by the distinctive familiar farm smells and (more excitingly) the ever-growing new additions to the farm – whilst the lambing season has drawn to a close, calves are continuing to be delivered.
