The Team at Feldon Dunsmore has grown recently, and we have welcomed many new faces to one of the largest sections of our firm, the Early Talent Team.

The Structure of the Firm

Our Early Talent Team comprises our more junior members such as paralegals, apprentices and trainee solicitors and makes up about 53% of the Feldon Dunsmore team. We have recently taken on two new paralegals, Jasmine and Alicia who are settling in nicely. Bethany will also soon be qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive, progressing through the Early Talent Team. We are also thrilled to announce that Mia Kelleher is soon starting her solicitor apprenticeship to be one of our newest trainees.

Outside of our Early Talent Team, we have our four Partners, Legal Director, Development and Planning Solicitor, Plot Sales Manager, Operations and Events Manager and Head of Early Talent.

Benefits of the Early Talent Team

In our opinion, there are many benefits of over half of Feldon Dunsmore being the Early Talent Team:

Advice and support

As a lot of the Feldon Dunsmore team are training, it means we all have collective experiences along with many new experiences that we can share with each other. The Early Talent Team provides a great support system to speak to colleagues who are in a similar boat, for example the experience of working alongside studying for qualifying exams.

Training

There is a great focus on training at Feldon Dunsmore as 53% of the team are in training!

Our Head of Early Talent, Bethan, offers the Early Talent Team invaluable group training sessions every two weeks as well as organising webinars for us to attend, arranging our central knowledge bank with a multitude of helpful resources and also being available for every ad hoc legal question the Early Talent Team may have.

Progression through the firm

Sophie Read, one of our partners, started at Feldon Dunsmore on a work experience placement before progressing to paralegal, to trainee, to associate and then to partner, remarkably all in just 7 years – a much shorter timeframe than you may find at larger firms. This progression is something Early Talent Team looks up to.

As Feldon Dunsmore is invested in the Early Talent Team and their training, the path to progression within the firm is clear cut and we are always encouraged to step outside our comfort zones to enhance our skills.

Responsibility

The structure of the firm means that the Early Talent Team are entrusted with responsibility on files from an early stage. As support to the partners, the Early Talent Team get to be involved in every step of a transaction and assist with many tasks including drafting, client meetings and negotiations. Taking responsibility helps to increase confidence, feel a valued contribution to a transaction and eases the road to becoming qualified lawyers.

One on one time with the partners

As the Early Talent Team directly assist a partner or legal director on every transaction, it means that we receive one on one training and feedback from solicitors with a wealth of experience. It also helps to strengthen the Team knowing that the partners are there to offer support and are always accessible to help.

Arrival of the apprentices!

We are also pleased to announce our newest additions to the Early Talent Team and to be welcoming our first paralegal apprentices in September.
