School's out for Summer

As the 2023-24 academic year draws to close and we wonder how much earlier in the year shops can get away with running “Back to School” marketing campaigns, Team FD are as busy as always, working on a diverse range of transactional commercial property matters all over the country. At the moment, the team’s current caseload includes a lease of a takeaway in Coventry, sale of an industrial unit in Norfolk, setting up a residential development in Birmingham and advising a developer on an option agreement relating to potential development land in Reading to name just a few.

It is also a busy time for Early Talent. Alongside their everyday work, some of our Early Talent team have been studying, revising and sitting exams towards their professional qualifications.

Our Summer 2024 work experience and vacation schemes are also currently in full flow: We were delighted to welcome Year 12 student Thea last week for a three-day placement during which she learnt about commercial leases, plot sales and the process of selling a property in practice. Both work placement schemes continue throughout the summer, with Team FD hosting two more sixth form students, a final-year university student and a graduate between now and September. In addition, we are currently mid-way through the recruitment selection process for our two paralegal apprenticeship vacancies: The shortlisted candidates will be coming into our office shortly to meet the team, interview and learn more about us and how we work.

During the past academic year, we have been pleased to attend numerous events at schools, colleges, sixth forms and universities to speak to students, parents, teachers and careers advisers about our own personal experiences, careers in law generally and also specifically careers at Feldon Dunsmore Solicitors. We are thrilled to hear how interesting, insightful and beneficial attendees have found these events and extend our thanks to the organisations who invited us to attend. We are looking forward to next academic year’s events already. In the meantime, all at Team FD wish all students and teachers a restful break over the summer holidays.
